HISTORY
Welcome to our new website.

Our new studio is finished and we have two kilns up and running and have begun to fire some work.  You will find our new production by clicking on the "new work" button on the left. We have additional work posted on the "more pots" page. Pam has glazed a group of new tiles and they can be found on the tile page.

Please note that some of the web sites in the Black River area
still have us listed as open and operating in Lesterville.  We have closed the Peola Valley Store in Lesterville.

Thanks for your interest in our work.   Pam & Lee
Peola Valley Pottery started in 1984 in Lesterville, Missouri.  Pam and Lee Ferber moved to Lesterville in 1983 from Des Moines, Iowa.
In Des Moines, Lee had been a Professor of Art at Drake University and Pam was involved in early childhood education.  The move to Lesterville also involved Doug and Bonnie Hendrickson.  Doug was also a Professor at Drake and he and Bonnie established Peola Valley Forge at the same time the pottery was started.

Lee has been making pottery since 1961 and has degrees in ceramics from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Kansas.  Most of Lee's pottery experience has been in stoneware pottery, specifically cone 9 reduction firing.  Pam continued her work in early childhood education in Missouri, but during the summers she began to make earthenware Christmas ornaments and ceramic jewelry.
In the early 90's Pam started working with earthenware tiles.  In October, 2007 we closed our studios and store in Lesterville and moved to Springfield, Missouri.  We are now working in cone 06 earthenware and recycled glass.
